The Portland Children's Museum Murals

This door in the museum is the entrance to the Birthday Rooms in the Museum, which are available for parties. Inside are two rooms known as "One Potato Room" and "Two Potato Room". This tree mural and the two murals I painted for each room inside were inspired by the Opal School's children's art, a preschool through 5th grade-art based learning school, with in the museum.

A Few Good Men

This was a wonderful commission that I was honored to create as gifts for the best men of the Abdelahad-Gowers wedding. I created a portrait of the groom and his 2 best men and added the backdrop of Churchhill Downs. The painting was then scanned, text was added and made into a label. Now 2 large 1.75 L of Woodford Reserve have their own very special addition to mark this great day.

Mt Hood Fantasy Mural

This mural is painted on a 10' x 5' canvas. The client had a grand vision for a mural for his first son's room. He wanted lots of activities arouns Mt. Hood that his son, Rogan,(as carried on the sign by the plane) would grow up doing. There is rafting, camping, soccer, driving around the mountain. Of course theri bulldog is in the mural too!! This was alot of fun!

This mural is one in three panels. The patrons wanted a mural in their living room that would be as if they are looking out the window and seeing Mt. Hood. This is one window that is 12'x6'. The other two "windows" are the same length of 12' that go above the mountain. The ceiling is very tall and goes up to a point so the 2 top windows are triangles!!

Reinvented 100 Year Old Carousel Horse

Recently I was commissioned to reinvent a family heirloom, a 100 year old carousel horse. The family structurally restored it themselves. They did a wonderful job for this old guy, his name is Sergeant. I then painted him dapple grey and gave hima more real feel then his previous all cream color.

I love these fairies flying above the trees tethered to butterflyies, riding on a flower. This painting is another detail of the Encahnted Forest Mural I completed recently. All four walls were embellished. I think the Claire, the little girl who falls asleep every night looking at teh art, is enchanted with her bedroom!

A mural I completed yesterday for a woman who was inspired by the Melvina Reynolds song, "God Bless the Grass". Passer-bys seemed to really appreciate the lyrics and would stop to contemplate the words. It was very endearing and a wonderful experience. It felt like painting prayer.
